Yulia Alizade is a painter, film director, and producer born in Şişli, Istanbul, of Azerbaijani Turkish heritage. Classically trained, she is recognized for her figurative oil paintings. Her major body of work, "Women of the World," is an interdisciplinary art project exploring the strength of women and its potential impact on the world. Developed over three years, the project brings together ten original paintings, the award-winning animated short film "Sevil," and a performance-based achievement in which Alizade completed a 1,000-kilometre solo motorcycle journey, becoming the first woman in Türkiye to accomplish this challenge within the project's concept. Through psychologically rich portraits, she reflects the lives of women from different cultures while addressing universal themes of identity, resilience, freedom, and human dignity. Combining painting and cinema as complementary artistic languages, Alizade creates works that invite reflection beyond cultural boundaries. Her works have been presented at international exhibitions and film festivals, and she continues her artistic practice in Istanbul.
